St. Matthew’s Quarter is a major town centre regeneration scheme in Walsall, in the West Midlands. The development is being done by a joint venture between Goold Estates Ltd and St. Modwen Properties plc (www.stmodwen.co.uk). St. Matthew’s Quarter is being built in three phases with Phase I currently on site.

Overall, St. Matthew’s Quarter covers 17 acres of Walsall’s Town Centre and the development will completely revitalise the Southern part of Walsall town centre.

St. Matthew’s Quarter is well located, 3 miles FROM M6/M5, junctions 7,9 and 10 and occupies the large part of the southern sector of Walsall town centre, being only 300 yards FROM the train and bus stations.

|
The St. Matthew’s Quarter development has a final value in excess of £175 million.

Phase I |
Phase I, valued at £50million, consists of a 120,000 sq ft Asda, trading at two levels, 10,000 sq ft of additional retail units, 41 apartments and a 1000 space multi storey car park.

To support this phase and subsequent phases, we are building new highways to improve traffic flow in the area. Phase I is now on site and completion is set for early 2007.

Phase II: |
Following the fire at Shannons Mill in August 2007 we have been working up plans for the new St. Matthew’s Quarter
|

Our intial aim was to make the site safe and secure which we have done.
